About the Project
Flip It Homes recently completed a modern studio new construction ADU in Van Nuys, CA, creating a stylish and functional living space from the ground up. This project highlights our expertise in designing and building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) that enhance property value and provide versatile living options. The design includes an open studio layout with a sleek kitchen, a full bathroom, and a modern exterior, making it an ideal space for rental income or guest accommodations.
The client’s vision was to build a modern studio ADU with all the amenities needed for comfortable living. We delivered a well-planned space that integrates a living area, kitchen, and sleeping space, ensuring the space feels both luxurious and practical. The ADU is presented unfurnished, allowing future occupants to personalize the space, while the architectural details and modern finishes provide a perfect foundation for contemporary living.
The main living area is designed as an open-concept space, featuring light gray wood-look flooring that adds durability and a modern aesthetic. The unfurnished space is bathed in natural light thanks to large sliding glass doors and windows with white blinds, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Recessed lighting and a ceiling fan provide a soft, modern ambiance, ensuring year-round comfort. The open layout ensures a seamless flow between the living, kitchen, and sleeping areas, with a frosted glass sliding barn door adding a modern element for privacy and storage. A wall-mounted air conditioning unit and modern thermostat enhance the space’s functionality.
The full bathroom is a modern addition, designed with both style and practicality in mind. White subway tiles line the walls, creating a clean and timeless look, while gray subway tiles with a mix of blue, beige, and white accents add a subtle decorative touch. A glass-enclosed shower-tub combo with chrome fixtures offers a spa-like experience, combining the functionality of a shower and bathtub in one unit. A single vanity with gray cabinetry provides storage and functionality, topped with a white countertop and a sleek chrome faucet. A large mirror with modern wall sconces and a small window enhance the bathroom’s airy feel, making it a luxurious retreat within the ADU.
The exterior of the ADU is designed to impress, with a white stucco finish and modern black lantern lighting fixtures that add a sleek touch. The entrance features large sliding glass doors, complemented by a paver pathway surrounded by a wooden fence, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The surrounding area includes a lush backyard with mature trees and greenery, adding to the ADU’s charm and functionality.
