Flip It Homes recently completed an impressive ADU garage conversion in Sherman Oaks, CA, transforming a standard garage into a sleek, modern studio Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) with a contemporary bathroom. The client envisioned a modern studio ADU that could serve as a rental unit or guest suite, maximizing the garage’s potential with a sleek, contemporary design. We delivered a studio layout that seamlessly integrates a living area, kitchenette, sleeping space, and a 3/4 bathroom, all while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. The use of dark cabinetry, modern fixtures, and a neutral color palette creates a sophisticated look that feels both spacious and inviting, ideal for modern living.
The kitchenette is a focal point of the studio, designed for both style and functionality. Dark gray cabinetry with silver handles provides ample storage, while a white countertop offers a clean, bright contrast. Stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, ensure the space is fully equipped for daily use. A modern chrome faucet and a large window above the sink bring in natural light, enhancing the kitchenette’s airy feel and making it a practical yet elegant feature of the ADU.
The living and sleeping areas are integrated into the open studio layout, creating a fluid and versatile space. A minimalist bed with a wooden frame and gray bedding serves as the sleeping area, positioned near a large window with white blinds for privacy and light control. Floating shelves above the bed add a decorative touch, displaying small plants and decor items that personalize the space. A frosted glass sliding closet door with black framing adds a modern element, providing storage while maintaining the studio’s open feel.
The 3/4 bathroom is a masterpiece of modern design, accessible through a sliding door. The glass-enclosed shower features a rainfall showerhead and chrome fixtures, offering a spa-like experience.
