About the Project
Flip It Homes recently completed an impressive single bedroom ADU garage conversion in Woodland Hills, CA, transforming an underutilized garage into a stylish and functional living space. This project highlights our expertise in creating contemporary Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) that enhance property value and provide versatile living options. The design includes a cozy living area, a sleek kitchen, a 3/4 bathroom, a single bedroom, and a beautifully designed paver entrance pathway, making it an ideal space for rental income or guest accommodations.
The client’s vision was to convert their garage into a contemporary ADU with all the amenities needed for comfortable living. We delivered a well-planned layout that integrates a living area, kitchen, dining space, and a private bedroom, ensuring the space feels both inviting and practical. The exterior features a contemporary paver entrance pathway that seamlessly connects the indoors with the outdoors, creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests.
The kitchen is a standout feature of the ADU, designed with contemporary aesthetics and functionality in mind. White cabinetry with silver handles offers ample storage, paired with a white countertop that creates a bright, clean look. Black appliances, including a refrigerator, oven, and microwave, add a sleek contrast, while a modern chrome faucet enhances the kitchen’s contemporary feel. Floating wooden shelves above the counter provide additional storage and display space, decorated with plants and kitchen essentials, adding warmth to the design. A mosaic tile backsplash with a mix of gray, white, and black tones adds a touch of sophistication to the space.
The living area is thoughtfully designed, featuring light wood-look flooring that adds durability and a cozy ambiance. A dark gray sectional sofa creates a comfortable seating area, perfect for relaxation. A ceiling fan with integrated lighting ensures a well-lit and airy space, while a window with a roller shade allows natural light to filter in, enhancing the open feel. The living area seamlessly connects to the kitchen and dining space, with a modern arched floor lamp and a wall-mounted TV adding contemporary flair.
The single bedroom is a private retreat, accessible through a sliding barn door. It features a dark wooden bed frame with blue patterned bedding, complemented by a colorful abstract painting above the headboard. A small desk and shelving unit provide functional storage, while a window with a roller shade allows for light control and privacy. The room’s neutral walls and wood flooring create a serene atmosphere, making it a perfect space for rest or work.
The 3/4 bathroom is a contemporary addition, designed with both style and practicality in mind. Beige vertical tiles line the walls, creating a warm and timeless look, while pebble-like floor tiles in the shower area add texture and grip. A glass-enclosed shower with chrome fixtures offers a spa-like experience, and a white vanity with a sleek chrome faucet provides storage and functionality. A small window above the shower brings in natural light, enhancing the bathroom’s airy feel.
The exterior paver entrance pathway enhances the ADU’s curb appeal, with large concrete pavers set into a lush artificial lawn, leading to the entrance. The pathway is surrounded by gravel landscaping, adding a contemporary touch, while outdoor seating options like a chair and table create a welcoming atmosphere. The stucco exterior of the ADU, paired with large glass doors, gives the space a contemporary look, while the surrounding greenery adds natural beauty.
