Flip It Homes recently transformed a garage into a modern transitional 750 sqft. ADU in Tarzana, CA, creating a stunning 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom rental unit that blends contemporary design with timeless comfort. This project showcases our expertise in converting underutilized spaces into functional, market-ready living areas. The design includes an inviting kitchen, two well-appointed bathrooms, spacious living areas with a classic fireplace, versatile rooms for various uses, a practical laundry area, and a serene outdoor retreat with a pool, making it a perfect rental property for the Tarzana market.
The objective was to craft a rental-ready 750 sqft. ADU that combines modern functionality with a warm, transitional aesthetic, appealing to tenants seeking both style and practicality. We achieved this by integrating sleek, contemporary elements with cozy, timeless features, ensuring the space feels both luxurious and welcoming. The design emphasizes open layouts, natural light, and versatile living spaces, making it an attractive option for renters in Tarzana.
The kitchen is a standout feature, designed with modern efficiency and transitional charm. Crisp white cabinetry with black handles provides ample storage, complemented by a white countertop that maintains a bright, airy ambiance. Stainless steel appliances, including an oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator, add a polished look, while a matching faucet introduces a subtle contrast. A marble backsplash with delicate veining adds a touch of elegance, and large windows with blinds allow natural light to enhance the space’s inviting feel. A large island offers additional counter space and storage, making the kitchen both practical and appealing for tenants.
The living area is a perfect blend of modern and transitional design, featuring light wood flooring and white walls that create a bright, airy atmosphere. The space is unfurnished, providing a blank canvas for tenants to personalize, with an open layout that seamlessly connects to the kitchen, ideal for everyday living or hosting guests. The hallway bathroom, accessible to the second bedroom and common areas, is a 3/4 bathroom with a single vanity featuring white cabinetry, a white countertop, and a gold faucet. It is paired with a gold-framed rectangular mirror and a modern wall sconce, while a glass-enclosed shower with gold fixtures and gray marble tiles offers a spa-like experience, complete with a built-in niche for storage.
The two bedrooms are serene retreats, each with light wood flooring and large windows that bring in natural light. The primary bedroom features a mirrored closet door, adding depth and brightness, while sheer curtains frame the glass doors leading to the backyard, enhancing the room’s connection to nature. The second bedroom offers a similar layout and serves as a versatile space for tenants, whether as a guest room or home office.
