Flip It Homes recently completed a modern 2-bedroom ADU garage conversion in Northridge, CA, transforming a standard garage into a stylish and functional living space. This project highlights our expertise in creating modern Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) that enhance property value and provide versatile living options. The design includes an open living area, a sleek kitchen, a 3/4 bathroom, and two private bedrooms, making it an ideal space for rental income or guest accommodations.
The client’s vision was to convert their garage into a modern ADU with a 2-bedroom, single-bathroom layout, ensuring all the amenities needed for comfortable living. We delivered a well-planned space that integrates a living area, kitchen, dining space, and two bedrooms, ensuring the space feels both luxurious and practical. The studio is presented with minimal furnishings, allowing future occupants to personalize the space, while the architectural details and modern finishes provide a perfect foundation for modern living.
The kitchen is a standout feature of the ADU, designed with modern aesthetics and functionality in mind. Gray cabinetry with silver handles provides ample storage, paired with a white countertop that creates a bright contrast. Stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, oven, and microwave, add a sleek touch, while a modern chrome faucet enhances the kitchen’s modern feel. A white subway tile backsplash adds a timeless look, and a small window above the sink brings in natural light, making the kitchen both practical and inviting. A small counter area offers additional workspace, adding functionality to the layout.
The main living area is designed as an open space, featuring light wood-look flooring that adds warmth and durability. The unfurnished space is bathed in natural light thanks to large windows with white blinds, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Recessed lighting provides a soft, modern ambiance, and the open layout seamlessly connects the living area to the kitchen, making it ideal for entertaining or daily living. A small dining area with two gray chairs and a round table adds a touch of functionality, while a potted plant brings a hint of greenery to the space.
The two bedrooms are private retreats, accessible through doors off the main living area. The first bedroom features light wood-look flooring and a window with a roller shade, allowing for light control and privacy. The second bedroom, also unfurnished, offers a similar modern design with a frosted glass sliding closet door, providing storage without compromising the open feel of the space. Both rooms are bright and airy, with neutral walls and recessed lighting, making them versatile spaces for rest or work.
The 3/4 bathroom is a modern addition, designed with both style and practicality in mind. White subway tiles line the walls, creating a clean and timeless look, while patterned floor tiles add a decorative touch. A glass-enclosed shower with chrome fixtures offers a spa-like experience, and a single vanity with gray cabinetry provides storage and functionality. A large mirror with modern wall sconces enhances the bathroom’s airy feel, making it a luxurious retreat within the ADU.
The overall design of the ADU is enhanced by thoughtful details, such as the modern thermostat on the wall and the open layout that ensures a seamless flow between the living, kitchen, and dining areas.
